Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her professional name Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the internet including her independently launched single Bound. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her sing her songs to the Dreamville Team later in the year as he wanted Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. In December 2008, it was revealed that Rihanna was contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs was written by her and Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his song Change in 2017, and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, Ari Lennox guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream from Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was followed by a video in September. In November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two more singles were released on the 11th of November Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole in her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The song, made available with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 was watched more than 3 million times in the first 7 days. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
